Sakura Invitational Program 2023

Dr. Mirza S Baig and his research team from the Department of
Biosciences and Biomedical Engineering (BSBE) at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore
(IITI) has been awarded under the Sakura Invitational Program 2023. Dr. Baig and his team
members are invited to the Biomedical Engineering Cancer Research Center, Tohuku
University, Japan to share their research with eminent scientists. The Sakura Award is granted
to Dr. Baig and his team based on our mutual interest in working on cancer immunotherapy and
their outstanding contributions to the field.

Rajat Atre's abstract has been accepted for the 11th International Conference of Laboratory Animal Scientists’ Association (LASA)-2023. LASA is a national organization dedicated to advancing laboratory animal science by promoting the ethical care and use of laboratory animals in biomedical and veterinary research. Rajat will be presenting his work on "An Improved Mouse Model of Sepsis Based on Intraperitoneal Injections of Enriched Cecum Slurry Culture".

The BMES CMBE Editors' Choice Award is a prestigious honor bestowed by the BMES Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering (CMBE). This award recognizes an individual who has made exceptional contributions to the field of cellular and molecular bioengineering. The award was presented at the Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, USA, for their study on the Structure-Based Design of Novel Peptidomimetics Targeting the SARS-CoV-2 Spike Protein.

Mirza S Baig received the Cambridge-Hamied Visiting Fellowship

The Cambridge-Hamied Visiting Fellowship has been established to stimulate the exchange of ideas and academic collaboration between India and the University of Cambridge. It is named after its founder, Dr. Yusuf Hamied, Chairman of CIPLA, and an alumnus of the University's Department of Chemistry and Christ's College. Professor Mirza S Baig will be working with Professor Ziad Mallat, MD, PhD, FMedSci at the Department of Medicine on topics related to chronic inflammatory diseases.
