MSB LAB at IITI

MSB Lab is pleased to share that Prof. Mirza S. Baig recently visited his former institute, the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), for an invited lecture.

Returning to an institution where he spent formative years of his academic journey was a meaningful experience. During the lecture, Prof. Baig shared insights into novel inflammatory regulatory mechanisms and potential therapeutic approaches, followed by engaging discussions with faculty and students.

MSB Lab extends sincere thanks to Dr. Nadim Mahmud, Professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, College of Medicine, for hosting the visit. Prof. Baig's time working with him at UIC was a highly enriching and formative experience. 

Reconnecting with the academic environment at UIC brought back many valuable memories. MSB Lab looks forward to continued collaborations and academic exchanges in the future.

MSB Lab is pleased to share that Prof. Mirza S. Baig recently visited Indiana University Indianapolis as part of the American Heart Association (AHA) Visiting Professorship.  

This visit builds on a strong and ongoing collaboration with Professor Alexander Obukhov and his team. Together, they are developing novel therapeutic peptides targeting atherosclerosis, with the goal of advancing innovative strategies for cardiovascular disease treatment.  

MSB Lab looks forward to continuing this collaboration and translating this research into meaningful clinical outcomes.

Evans, a PhD student from University of Cape Coast, Ghana, joined the MSB Lab at Indian Institute of Technology Indore through the IITI International Fellowship Program 2025 under the supervision of Dr. Mirza S. Baig. 

During his time here, he successfully completed his PhD research work and is now prepared to submit his thesis.

We are pleased to share that an MSB Lab team member, Mr. Khandu Wadhonkar, has been awarded First Prize for Oral Presentation at the International Conference on Innovations and Applications in Life Sciences: Vector-Borne Diseases and Antimicrobial Resistance (IALS-2026) organized by Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded, in collaboration with CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune.

The presentation highlighted ongoing cancer research from the MSB Lab at Indian Institute of Technology Indore.

Congratulations to Khandu, and we wish him continued success in his future research endeavors.
